Draft magazine purchased a sponsorship of the 16th hole for which Encore provided promotional and booth planning and management.
Planning
• Created the plan for the booth area and graphic presentation.
• Located and rented interactive games (roulette wheel and money machine)
• Selected logo bags to fill with magazines for hand out.
• Selected and purchased hats, t-shirts and other premium items with logo for giveaway.
• Planned floral booth decorations.
• Hired models to be “DRAFT Girls.”
• Created golf look, ordered and fitted “DRAFT Girl” apparel.
• Trained “DRAFT Girls” to sell subscriptions promote the magazine, run games, etc.
Design
• Designed signage behind the tee on the sixteenth hole and for a booth at the exit of the main exhibitors tent.
• Designed booth banners and had them made to order.
• Designed DRAFT dollars to be used with real money in the money machine.
Project Management
• Managed models and DRAFT employees in working the booth and exit areas.
• Socialized with investors and their families and friends when they visited the booth, loading them down with giveaways.
• Worked with the Thunderbirds (event organizers) to move and reconfigure booth after it was rained out by extensive storms.
Outcome
This week-long event was so successful with subscription sales that the DRAFT website crashed from the volume of web visitors. Investors were very impressed with the look, feel and energy of the presentation of the product. Subscription sales skyrocketed for a four week period, during and after the event. Within 6 months, advertising revenue doubled, which allowed the publisher to adjust rates accordingly for the remainder of 2007.
